Norfolk Citizens Advice
A local charity for the whole community.
Norfolk Citizens Advice is a local, independent charity providing free, confidential, and impartial advice to thousands of people across the county. We’re here to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, access the support they need and lead healthy, happy lives.
What We Do
We offer quality-assured advice and advocacy on a wide range of issues:
Debt and money management
Benefits and Universal Credit
Housing and homelessness
Employment rights
Immigration and family matters
Health and wellbeing concerns
Consumer protection and scams
Our services are inclusive and accessible, supporting people from all backgrounds - including older adults, carers, disabled people, migrants and refugees, and those experiencing social isolation or mental health challenges.
Help for anyone on any issue
We exist to help Norfolk residents to find solutions to the issues they face. We welcome anyone who needs support to move forward. Our teams are highly experienced in understanding complicated legal or problems but also knowledgeable in what help is locally available for people to connect with their communities.
Holistic Support for Complex Needs
We specialise in complex casework. Since 2020, we’ve helped over 67,000 people with more than 250,000 life issues.
Our approach is holistic - we work with clients to understand their goals and needs, and build tailored support plans. We lead multi-agency teams like the Norwich Living Well Team, collaborating with public and VCSE partners to deliver joined-up care.
Supporting Older Adults
58% of our clients are aged over 50. We help build their knowledge, confidence, and resilience - preventing frailty and easing pressure on health services.
Our impact includes:
- £14 million in financial gains for clients
- £5 million in debt reduction
- £143 million in personal wellbeing return (based on Treasury-approved public value assessment)
Improving Health Outcomes
Our advice services improve both physical and mental health by addressing the social factors that affect wellbeing.
- 62% of clients report improved physical health
- 79% report improved mental wellbeing
Our crisis and debt support services reduce pressure on mental health services - saving the NHS an estimated £1.1 million.
Healthy Ageing Norfolk
As part of Healthy Ageing Norfolk, Norfolk Citizens Advice will help residents to explain their goals and help them to resolve issues they face.
Our staff and volunteers support locally, they know their communities and they want to make a difference to the lives around them. Support will be offered by phone and in person, with clear, helpful information provided at each stage to ensure residents understand the options available.
