Our mission is to help older residents thrive by providing opportunities and services that protect their health, enhance their wellbeing, and foster independence. What is Health Coaching?


Health Coaching is a supportive and personalised way to help you stay active, healthy and independent as you age. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build on your fitness, our friendly coaches are here to guide you.


Our qualified coaches will visit you in your home or somewhere local to you if you want to get out. They have fun sessions for all ages and abilities, and they will support you every step of the way.


  • Weekly physical activity sessions with a qualified coach in the home or a group setting
  • Personalised sessions balanced to your ability, interests or recovery goals (i.e., strength & balance, mobility & flexibility, heart & lungs etc).
  • Support to find local opportunities for ongoing self-care (i.e., activity clubs, food, smoking cessation, weight management etc).

What is Community Support?


Community support involves regular welfare check-ins to understand how you’re doing and any worries you may have.


It’s about providing a wide range of help and support based on your current needs, and thinking ahead to the future, helping you to live longer, independently at home.


This includes:


  • Support to raise your concerns with your GP, Health Practitioner or Local Council.
  • Ensuring you have living essentials such as adequate food, drink, medication.
  • Arranging support to tackle loneliness and isolation and access to community.
  • Practical support to help you understand care options such as personal alarms, mobility aids, or domiciliary care.
  • Games and activities proven to keep your mind active and stimulated.
  • Arranging physical activity to improve mobility, strength and balance to aid recovery or reduce your risks of falls.
  • Home improvements and adaptations.

Healthy Ageing Norfolk

As part of the Healthy Ageing Norfolk service, Age UK Norwich supports people over 50 to reduce frailty and prevent falls, helping them stay safe, active, and independent.


Our staff provide local, community-based support, both by phone and in person, offering clear and practical information at every stage so residents understand the options available. Alongside falls prevention, we also help people set personal goals and overcome challenges to improve health, wellbeing, and quality of life.


The type of support residents may receive from Age UK Norwich includes:

Maintaining Independent Living

Home assessment to identify ways to keep you safe, secure and living independently at home. We’ll advise on reducing trip hazards and suggest helpful adaptations or assistive devices.

Our technology analyses your walking to spot issues with movement, balance, or strength that may raise your risk of falling. You’ll then receive a personalised exercise plan to boost mobility, stability, and confidence.

Health & Wellbeing

Guidance and practical support to help you stay healthy and independent, from raising concerns with your GP to making sure you have essentials like food and medication. Our team provides advice on hydration and nutrition to support falls prevention, while connecting you with activities, community support, and resources to improve mobility, confidence, wellbeing, and social connection.
